THE CALCULATION OF AVERAGE GRADE

The grade is calculated according to the Article 13 of Preparatory Education and Examination Legistation of Trakya University School of Foreign Languages as stated below.

 (1) Pass grade of preparatory class which must be at least 60 out of 100, is calculated by adding 50% of the final exam grade to 50% of the yearly average grade. Weight distribution of examinations to be made during the academic year is as calculated as 60% of midterm exams, 20% of quizzes, 20% of class performance. Those who become successful in the preparatory class continue their education in the programs they are enrolled in. The students who fail to complete the preparatory education and wish to take the final exam by studying on their own means are not required to take the midterms, the quizzes and get a class performance grade. These students are considered to be successful if they take 60 out of 100 points from the final exam. The final examination is scheduled upon the student application of those who want to take the exam by studying on their own means. Application is made to the Directorate of School of Foreign Languages.

Term average is needed as the classes change according to the average grades at the end of the first term.  The evaluation mentioned above is made for those students who repeat the preparatory class and will take the end of term exam, therefore the yearly average grade is calculated by taking the averages of both terms.
