Optional English Preparatory Education
The purpose of Optional English Preparatory Education (OEPE) is to bring the foreign language level of students enrolled in the programs in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) until the end of the academic year. Therefore, after the students successfully complete the preparatory education, they can follow the undergraduate courses. It is to ensure that they learn a foreign language at the required level in order to be able to express themselves in the relevant foreign language both in written and orally.
OEPE period is two semesters. If there are more applications than the predetermined quota in programs that offer optional foreign language preparatory classes, the ranking is made from the top according to the entrance scores of the Higher Education Entrance Exam that students entered in the relevant year, and they are registered to the preparatory classes by the quota limit. In order to open an optional preparatory class, at least 20 students must register for the preparatory class. Students who are accepted to the OEPE are placed in mixed classes with the compulsory preparatory class students from other faculties based on the placement exam results. Students who successfully complete the OEPE start their education from the first class of the program related to the Certificate of Achievement they will receive from the School. Students who meet the attendance requirements in the optional preparatory class but fail, are given an OEPE Participation Certificate by the school.
